Coaching

The allocation of an accredited team-effectiveness coach to each team, means each participant and each team derive real, pragmatic development from taking part, directly applicable to the work environment.

We provide a coach (included in price) for each participating team – an independent source2sea coach for your team.

Source2sea also presents an opportunity for individuals from your organisation to be trained and accredited as Team Effectiveness Coaches. By attending a 6 day training programme, including 3 days at their first live source2sea event, individuals can become First Ascent Accredited Team Effectiveness Coaches.

Coaches can choose to be allocated to a team from their own organisation or to a team from another organisation. There is no requirement for an organisation to provide its own coaches to participating teams; equally there is no requirement for teams to be submitted from an organisation that is providing an accredited coach. Coaching accreditation and team entry to source2sea are two separate activities, although they can obviously be linked should an organisation wish to do so.

The accreditation programme provides a 3 day training event, prior to source2sea, followed by a fully mentored coaching experience at a live source2sea event. Successful assessment of performance at this first event will enable a coach to be accredited and then be available, without further training, for future source2sea events. With two events planned per year, source2sea provides a regular opportunity for coaches to top up their experience, in an environment independent from the workplace.

Accredited coaches will achieve the following personal development outcomes:

  • Accreditation in a widely applicable team effectiveness coaching skill set. This includes the ability to help teams improve and speed up decision making, improving their alignment and motivation, improving their communications, assisting conflict resolution, improving resilience.

  • Confidence to coach operational teams in the workplace to enhance team performance, including an enhanced ability to question and analyse situations, the use of a goal setting and review technique, the ability to understand personal and team performance interactions.

  • Regular experience can be gained by working with teams at source2sea.

  • Annual opportunities (two per year) to participate as a coach at source2sea, free of charge.

  • Membership of a learning group with other accredited coaches, in a range of organisations to share best practice and experience.

There is a small fee to cover the cost of training a coach from your organisation – covering the cost of the initial 3 day training programme. Contact david@source2sea.com for more details.
